Long week...finally back to *normal*
Okay, well the sock is done, and I hate it! I think it was a pattern for an elf! Pointy toes and pointy heels. Definitely throwing that pattern away. I don't even feel like doing the other sock now! I'll eventually finish it, and just make them house socks, but it's just frustrating! Sorry, there will be no more pictures of that pair of socks!
So last week I was in training for work Monday thru Friday, in Northern VA. Of course the first thing I did was map out all the LYS. I found three that were close enough to drive to during the week. I also had a huge list of projects I wanted to start, thanks to my recent delivery of yarn from WEBS! But mainly I had wanted to get started on my Green Gable. So Monday night I couldn't resist, I drove to Uniquities in Vienna. They don't have a website, but they definitely need to get one. They had everything! I was very impressed with their selection! Three rooms I think. And I loved how they had them separated. All the wondeful luxurious yarn was in the front room. Manos #109 was calling my name for a nice little fall / winter hat for me. But really, the only thing I *needed* was size 7, 12" circs. Of course, they only had Addi's in that size!
So I left, just dying to knit! I got back to the hotel and grabbed my new Addi's and went to work on a Baby Hat from Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Knitted Gifts in Mission Falls Cotton #403 Sky. I finished the hat that night, but still need to do the little tie.
But for whatever reason, that was the only thing I actually accomplished last week! I tried casting on for my Green Gable in Cotton Fleece Lilac Haze three times and never seemed to get it right after a few rows. I was desperately in need of some Knitting Help.com advice, but no access to a computer! So I headed out to another LYS on Thursday, Capital Yarns. She had a pretty nice store there. Her Manos selection was incredible! I chatted with her for a while, left with an old issue of Vogue Knitting with a gorgeous Cardigan in it. But the whole week I felt a little sad about my lack of knitting! I had really wanted to get a lot done. Oh well! Instead I stuffed my face with all kinds of take out on the company, which was okay, the first day or two, but got old after a while. Not to mention....I missed my Kris!! I felt terrible leaving him all week! never leaving him for that long again!
So, as of right now. I've started my hat in Manos, I just couldn't hold out any longer with that beautiful yarn. The only problem is, the colors are pooling vertically, and I'm not liking that very much! Hopefully today the cord for the baby hat will get started while sitting in the waiting room at the dentist. The casting on for the Green Gable will have to wait for the weekend!
