Not a bad day after all!

So he finally let me knit him something, and he's wearing it! Obviously in this picture I'm thisclose to being finished! Nothing like a hubby with a malabrigo hat on and 3 pink dpns sticking out from his head!! *too cute* Actually this is his second hat, and of course I knit the best for my Bear! I patterned it after a *gasp* store bought hat I have that I absolutely love! Nothing fancy, but so soft and so warm! He's gone until Tuesday, so I sent my love with him, all bundled up in his new hat!


The hat is trying to hide some of the most beautiful yarn I've ever seen!! My mom bought me this for Christmas for the Tzarina Wrap in Wrap Style and it's gorgeous! It's Ellyn Coopers Yarn Sonnet, Texas Big Horn in Primrose. I saw the wrap already done in my LYS and just fell in LOVE! It's extremely soft and the coloring is just perfect! Wow, I'm not sure I've felt *this* way about yarn yet! And here it is, in all it's glory!!

Moving on....today I finally got to spend some time at my lys, Crazy for Ewe. There's a small gathering of knitters on Friday mornings for coffee, and I got to join! It was great to be around so many wonderful ladies, all knitty and chatty! I loved it! I wish I could get over there more often! I loved just watching them knit, seeing their projects, hearing about the newest yarns and styles. Hearing about the wonderful Sally Melville, who will be here in March. So much fun! I spent the morning drooling over a skein of Artyarns #105, which I've loved since the day I saw it...contemplating a pair of socks. But alas, I went home empty handed (don't ask how, I'm still not sure how it happened!)
But it didn't last long...I came home today, again on a sock craze. I think it's Cara's fault I'm fascinated with socks lately, but I didn't buy STR, I'm hoping I win her random contest and get a skein!
But I just got some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Vera. I bought it from Yarnbow on ebay and it looks like she's got a great selection!! I'll definitely be checking with her in the future, assuming this buy goes well. And I love the fact that I can just buy it! I don't have the patience for ebay auctions! Call me greedy, but whatever! I want it when I want it, and I don't want to not get it!

So all in all, would you believe I had to work today? On my day off, it sure doesn't seem like it!
